About the founder

Deneen Grant has a philosophy about Human Resource Management-

Employees want to contribute to the company’s success. They want to grow, be a part of something important and understand how they fit the big picture. They must work for leaders who can communicate clearly, establish goals, engage, and show an interest in their development. When this happens, the employee and the company succeed.

Deneen has over 16 years of experience in all facets of Human Resources.  She has served as Assistant Vice President, Human Resources for Wells Fargo Bank; Human Resources Generalist for Key Bank; Human Resources Generalist for Providence; Assistant Vice President, Human Resources for Kitsap Bank; Human Resources Generalist for Russell Investments; Human Resources Generalist (contract) for The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

In her most recent role, Deneen served as the Senior Vice President, Director of Human Resources for Meracord LLC (formerly NoteWorld). During her time at Meracord, Deneen developed Human Resource programs, initiatives and infrastructure under the direction of the CEO/Owner.  She changed the culture of the company – creating performance management systems, benefits programs, training, salary administration systems, recruitment & selection strategies and manager/leadership development programs.   All of this was accomplished during a time of rapid growth.  In 2010, Meracord grew their employee headcount by over 30%.  It should be noted that Meracord had never had a dedicated HR function before Deneen joined the company – she built it from scratch.

Deneen started Grant Management Consulting to help clients achieve their business goals and strategic objectives through their employees.  She understands how to convert a leader’s strategic vision into Human Resource practice.  Deneen knows that every company has unique people management opportunities and challenges.  Her recommendations are specialized for every client, because in HR – “one size does not fit all”.

Deneen is certified by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
